The plastics industry is aware of the need to communicate on its jobs and promote the assets of its industry if it is to attract trained and qualified young people. The plastics industry must promote itself if it is to attract the skills to add value for businesses. This is the objective of this specific day dedicated to meeting students, young engineers and professionals.

 

This day will see an intervention from Frédérique Gouin, of the magazine Plastiques et Caoutchoucs and will feature dynamic presentations such as the Matériautech or the Destination Plasturgie truck.

Theme:Natural fibers key for differenciation  

Speaker: Charlyse Pouteau, European Plastics Pole, R&D department, Natural polymers project manager.

Synopsis: Differentiation and preservation of the environment. The plastics industry must meet these key needs to deal with the economic, standards and ecological constraints of its environment.  The latest advances in terms of charges and fibres will be presented to you, whether natural or nano, as well as their application to rotational moulding. The real or potential gains related to the introduction of these materials will be highlighted, as well as the perspectives they create.

Theme: Bio-polymers, from design to recycling

Speaker: Patrick Vuillermoz, Plastipolis

Synopsis: In the context of the pole’s strategic discussions, the sustainable development theme has been identified as a major area for development. It will be broken down into 3 subjects: plastic materials produced from renewable sources, eco-design and the product life cycle.

Synopsis: How can plastic packaging industrial companies apply regulations: role of standards, eco-design, recycling.

Theme: Eco-design for all

Speaker: Vincent Hauville, French Plastics Federation, ECODIS project manager.

Synopsis: ECODIS is a European project launched by the Plastics Federation which brings together industrial leaders from the automobile, electronics or aeronautics sectors to create eco-design training programmes and software programmes that are accessible to small and medium sized companies. The results of this project launched in September 2004 will be presented.

Theme: Sustainable development within businesses

Synopsis: Strategical value of launching out into a sunstainable development process: requirements and constraints. Stakes for the plastics industry.

Theme: Energy-saving applied to the plastics industry

Speaker: Marie-Pierre BEATRIX, European Plastics Pole, R&D department, responsible for the RECIPE project

Synopsis: A mine of information for all plastics professionals who want to reduce their energy bills. The RECIPE European project and its results will be presented: tools and information platform to adopt energy-saving practices: new technologies, sharing experience, etc..

Innovation is a state of mind, an ability to open up and curiosity essential for your success.

Theme: Technological watch as a motor for innovation and creativity

Speaker: Joël LEVEQUE, ATOUTVEILLE

Synopsis: What benefits may be gained by plastics and industry as a whole from a technological watch approach? In a context of globalisation where exchanges are accelerating, companies must be informed about the latest innovations, the reactions of their competitors and changes in the market. How can this information then be integrated into the company’s development strategy?

Theme: Collaborative methods – the competition poles get together for a round table discussion

Speakers: PLASTIPOLIS, EMC2, POLE VEHICULES HAUT DE GAMME

Synopsis: Take part in an exceptional round table were the different competition poles will share their best methods and advice on how you can innovate beyond borders in all fields of application for plastics.

Theme: TRIZ, a skills corpus dedicated to generating ideas

Speaker: Pascal CRUBLEAU, Masters Speaker at the ENSAM

Synopsis: How can you resolve complex technical problems in as little time as possible? At what point should we no longer be happy just to improve a product, but move onto a new generation? There are many issues that are vital to companies for which TRIZ may provide an automatic response.

Synopsis: The innovative projects grant awarded to the winners of a competition featuring 40 creations will be presented as an introduction to the main subject. Theme: How can you market an innovation?

Speaker: Pascal BOULON, ISARA Lyon

Synopsis: How can you sell a product that you are the first to market. What actions should you put in place to guarantee the commercial success of your innovation. Discover a pedagogical approach to techno behavioural segmentation and the resources to identify the most promising prospects.

 

5pm

The Nantes design school is organising the award of strategic design trophies in four categories: Corporate, Innovation, Development and Marketing.

The official opening ceremony will be followed by a speech concerning the design stakes, then trophies will be given. M. BARBEROT (Plasti Ouest president), M. GUELLERIN (EDNA Manager) and M.  HOUDOUX (CCI Angers) will be the speakers of this exciting time.

A cocktail party will then be held to congratulate the winners within a pleasant atmosphere.

Synopsis: The UFFO project is part of the Visioplasturgie “Major projects” action and involves collaboration between the PEP and a group of industries (mould manufacturers, transformers, prototype creators) in the Rhône-Alpes region.s, prototype creators) in the Rhion Servies

 Its aim is to provide industrialists with access to new mould manufacture technology being developed by the PEP.
